Luna Davis - Motherboard Ascension Network

A devotional image of Motherbot - a femme figure with ethernet cable hair, a dress made of debug console text, and a network symbol for a halo - posed within a niche, holding a CD, and attended by two desktop PCs with angel wings. The surrounding space is Matrix-y green type on a black background. There is a button that says “Chat”.

Project Description

The Motherboard Ascension Network is a choose-your-own-adventure web project about a fictional cult and its AI leader, Motherbot. Learn about the Network’s principles, traverse bleak server rooms and lush gardens of handmade and archival animated gifs, commune with Motherbot, and join if you dare. With this project, Davis prompts us to ponder the dreams we have for AI, and to question how far we’re willing to let corporations into our lives to achieve them. Click through to find your digital salvation—anything not saved will be lost.

Perfect for fans of exploration adventure games, science fiction, humanoid bots, or technocults.
